"What is Emotional Intelligence?"

What is emotional intelligence and why should you care? In the context of Chinese medicine, your emotional state is one of the most important factors in your enjoyment of life. That's because if you don't deal with a negative state of mind, over the long run, your health will be greatly affected.

Put very simply, if you've adopted a chronic negative emotional state or a repressed emotional state, then you probably have issues. These include physical pain and discomfort, degenerative disease, and mental/emotional problems.

Maybe you don't think so. Maybe you think that you're happy. Perhaps you're right. If you're happy, then this is how you know for sure:

Take this test. See how many "Yes" you get. Find out what is emotional intelligence cracked up to be.

• You're mobile, that is, you can run and walk without pain.
• You can bend your back without pain.
• You can easily bend all your joints (shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, hips, knees, ankles, toes) without pain.
• You have a glowing complexion.
• You have a full head of hair.
• You still have your original hair colour, for women, greying may begin in the late 40s, while in men, it may begin in the mid 60s.
• You're strong.
• You have great digestion.
• You're eliminating solid and liquid wastes from your body every day.
• For either gender, you're enjoying healthy fertility.
• For women, the menstrual cycle is 28 days long, without too much cramping, flow is heavier at the beginning, much lighter towards the end, the colour of the blood is bright red, clots are very small or nonexistent.
• For women, there are few premenstrual symptoms or they are mild.
• For both genders, there is libido and sexual vigor.
• For both genders, orgasm is a relatively regular occurrence.
• You're emotionally resilient.
• You're usually calm and easy going.
• You usually feel good about yourself.
• You usually feel good about life.
• You have strong will.
• You make plans and execute them to completion.
• You make sound decisions.
• You ask for help.
• You feel confident about your abilities.

How did you do? Outside of some normal muscle soreness after strenuous exercise, of you're experiencing any chronic and acute physical issues, then you aren't dealing with your emotional state well. If you're often dissatisfied with your life and feeling like you're between a rock and hard place, you aren't dealing with your emotional state.

What is emotional intelligence that is important to you? Having it means you're going to enjoy life. That's how I gauge health. If someone complains about not being well, that's where I start looking.

what is emotional inteliigence this is what it looks like

Look at the baby in the picture. He's going through a whole bunch of emotions due to his discomfort with baby measles in a matter of the time it took to take the pictures. So not that long! He was definitely very uncomfortable. And then he bounced right back into his usual cheery self. What is emotional intelligence? It looks just like that.

You had emotional intelligence when you were a baby. When you were happy, you laughed AND smiled with your entire body. You kicked and gurgled and made cute noises. When you were sad or uncomfortable, you cried AND screamed with your entire body. You kicked furiously, waved your little arms, moved your little body.

This was the only way you could let the adults around you know what was going on. And you got some sort of reaction out of them. As you grew, you learned how to speak words. But you were always verbal. And that is not insignificant. You still used body language, but it became more obvious what you needed, such as when you needed to go to the washroom - ASAP! And it later became more subtle.

You also learned body language from older people around you. One little tyke, I recall years ago, use to roll his eyes as if in disgust and he was only 2 years old. I don’t think he knew the meaning behind the body language, but he sure looked hilarious doing it!

So what is emotional intelligence? It's the acceptance of your emotions as a part of you. Not separate or some foreign thing. Not denying that they exist. There's too much of that right now and that's the reason for ALL of your problems. The other part is the ability to let them go in a healthy and positive way.
