Learning how to be happy is a life skill that WILL correct health problems and maintain good health. So, it's preventive too. It should be the easiest thing to do, but sadly you may have lost that valuable wisdom as soon as you left infancy. You definitely knew it at some point. In this section, you'll relearn methods to become happy, because it's a choice to be happy and also a state of mind and being. But I'll start with how NOT to be happy, first:
It doesn't mean that life won't have it's ups and downs. It just means that you'll be able to recover from those ups and downs. Surely, some of them will be devastating. But because you know how to be happy, you'll be a lot more resilient. And that's my goal, to teach you how to be resilient, how to be flexible, how to bounce back from adversity. Because the alternative is a very STRESSFUL life.
Look at how to be happy as a tool for dealing with stress. Somewhere along the way, you may have learned that it was almost selfish to be happy. You may have been ridiculed for laughing too much or you may've been told to get serious! Now that in itself sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? Who was the killjoy who said that to you? Okay, okay. You can't blame them either, because they didn't know any better.
Yes, being and feeling happy is the key to success - in all areas of your life. Your career. Your bank account. Your family life. Your other relationships. Your recreational life.
As you can see from this list, there's a bunch of topics that are the opposite of being happy. I've included tools for you to let go of these negative emotions. So become part of a movement to be happy. Decide that you are going to be happy and then apply my techniques. You're on your way!
