"Enhancing Emotional Intelligence: Simple Exercises"

Enhancing emotional intelligence is the single most important thing you can do to ensure a healthy and happy life. If you crave sanity in your everyday life, then all you need to do is really care about how you feel.

Your emotional state is responsible for your good health as well as for your bad health. Now I don't want you to use this to beat your self up! Up until now, you just didn't know any better because people around you didn't know and they didn't know how to deal with their negative emotional state either.

So, I'm giving you some quick tools to deal with your negative emotional state. It's only a negative emotional state that counts.

There is no such thing as positive stress. When you're happy, and happy in a consistent way, then you'll reap all kinds of benefits. Great health. Better business and career prospects. Everything adds up to give you the life you want, but you've got to be ready to accept and receive these good things into your life. That's by positively expecting and thinking about the things that you want.

And that's by enhancing emotional intelligence so that you feel better.

Here's what you can do:

1. Stop saying bad things about your self to your self. Do you ever belittle your self when you make a mistake? Stop doing it right now. A little compassion for your self is in order. So stop saying nasty things to your self. I catch my clients doing that. They're hard on them selves too. I tell them to quit. You stop it, too.

2. Get present with a strong negative emotion. Actually you can nip any negative emotion in the bud in the following way. When you feel any negative emotion, stop what you're doing. Get present with the feeling. Even when you're in the middle of a meeting. Accept the emotion for what it is: it's there. Feel it intensely. Then move on. The more often you practice, the faster the strong emotion will dissipate and you can get on with your life!

3. Gratitude is important. Be thankful for whatever has happened. As negative as it may be, it happened to make you stronger, to move on to something better. For example, a lay off from work usually means you were in the wrong place. It's time to move on.

These are a few things you can do. Enhancing emotional intelligence does require practice and some discipline. But you can do it. I know you can!
